Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Anastasia B — 15 Jun 2010
Even though this production is immaculate- like the direction and photography, the costumes and the art design, I couldn't help feeling that this film is dull. Of course, the 50s were equally dull and the problems that the film poses today seem ridiculous for our standards.
Discrimination due to race and sexuality may still exist but it is not that blatant, the way it was back then, to the point of a white man warning a black man for simply touching the arm of a white woman on the street.
