Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Moshe P — 29 Jun 2011
This movie is absolutely beautifully pictured, and the costumes are shiny. But that's about it. The movie is directed badly - instead of portraying a life in the 50's it portrayed a 50's commercial.
The characters talk in a high level of language, which was never in actual speech. The beautiful prestigious dresses and the crafted hair - those are such obvious and shallow stereotypes. Even if the director chose to use them, he can't expect a woman at app.
7:30 am to stand happily with a perfect hair and dress. The acting is just funny (in spite of the very talented actors) - the dialogues just look like they are out of commercials. The only credit I give to the movie is on the visual side of it.
