Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Jon A — 24 Jul 2012
A beautiful period piece, designed to the upmost perfection by talented director Todd Haynes, who has a knack for period. The score, art direction, costumes, performances, direction, cinematography, everything is top notch here.
Julianne Moore really proves herself as a seemingly perfect housewife whose perfect life is starting to falter, and Dennis Quad is equally good as the 50's husband dealing with his bubbling homosexuality.
It's the perfect melodrama.
