Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Denise B — 03 Jan 2013
Without giving too much away, Far fFrom Heaven offers a powerful picture of 1950's suburban life, balancing gender roles and prejudices. Julianne Moore gives a powerful performance as a stay at home mom wanting something more for herself than a clean house and brunch with the neighborhood wives.
Dennis Quaid plays Julianne Moore's husband in the film who is dealing with his own demons as well. I would recommend this movie for those who appreciate movies that are character driven where the plot takes a little bit longer to unfold but leaves the viewer with a lot to think about at the end.
