Review of Far and Away (1992) by Derek E — 12 Jan 2011
I found this film to be an exciting period piece that history buffs and film lovers alike can enjoy. Though flawed, I still find this film to be one of Ron Howard's best. The acting is sub par when compared to the potential of the actors that were in the film.
However, there is no denying the chemistry between Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in the film. After all, they did end up married for a while. The film was beautifully shot, and very well written. It's a compelling film that has the ability to inspire, if you're able to make it through a sappy love story and a few moments of cheesy acting.
