Review of Fantastic Planet (1973) by Gabriel C — 23 Sep 2007

I saw this film back in Ireland late one night on RTE 2, in it's "arthouse" slot. That was more then fifteen years ago and this movie still stays with me. The artistry, the images, the language, the soundtrack, all conspire to take you away to somewhere... else.

I dare you to watch this after Disney's Treasure Planet- it'll feel like a colonic for the aesthetics.

I understand the Region 1 DVD leaves a lot to be desired, but that the Region 2 version makes good fist of it, so that's where I'll be getting my copy.
