Review of Fantastic Planet (1973) by Jeremy O — 15 Feb 2013
A film set on a faraway planet where giant aliens live, oppressed smaller humanoids rebel against their machine-like leaders. Feels much deeper than the average science fiction animation feature from the psychedelic construction of its environment to the particular style of animation that portrays an original visual concept.
Themes of oppression and intolerance add depth and contribute in making this a rewarding watch.
