Review of Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) by Doug A — 05 May 2012
Itâ(TM)s cute. Thatâ(TM)s the major thing about this Wes Anderson flick, itâ(TM)s cute. Itâ(TM)s still good, some of the voice performances are pretty good, but in general, itâ(TM)s good. The messages are good, and the designs look pretty solid.
And yet⦠I cannot fall in love with this. The animation can be skippy at times, and the fast-forward animation look just seems confusing. The comedy can be more or less like âhit or missâ? type comedy.
Some of it works, while some of it really does not. I also donâ(TM)t get the dancing scenes, they just seem a little corny. I thought that the stories were decent, they are good stories in essence, but not quite as well in the execution category.
I really do not know what to say about this movie, itâ(TM)s just cute and good. Not much else to say really. I guess the sets and character designs, again, are pretty good, and the photography can look really good at times.
Wes Andersonâ(TM)s direction is decent enough, but really, the whole movie is just good.
