Review of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) by Earl B — 09 Mar 2016
The Silver Surfer is my favorite comic book character. That's why I am watching this movie 9 years after it came out. I went to Hastings and bought a used copy of it. It's in an old Blockbuster case, which is kind of cool.
This movie, like its predecessor, is pretty weak. They didn't even use Galactus!!!!! They turned the big God into a solar storm tornado thing!?!?! The Surfer had maybe 5 or 6 lines. And he doesn't lose his powers when he's off his board.
.... Stan Lee's cameo was cute. I really like Alicia Master's character. They should have stuck to the original story line and used her instead of Sue. I don't understand what was up with them switching powers when they touched? And when the Human Torch became similar to the Super Skrull in that he had all four of the hero's powers, I was like ok that's cool.
But it didn't make any sense at all! I liked Brian Posehn even though his acting was kind of poor. I just wish that someone would have figured out how to do the Fantastic Four correctly. 3 strikes and your out though right? Maybe someone will make a bad ass Silver Surfer movie one day.
Who knows? Maybe I will!
