Review of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) by Paulf. — 22 Jun 2007
What can I say except I knew exactly what I was getting into. I expected the visuals to be fantastic, the story ok, the music loud with no real emotional foundation, and the acting just barely enough to get by.
Well Fantastic Four delivered on all four accounts. It really gave me the impression that it stayed pretty true to the comic book. I don't know how many people read Fantastic four, well I wouldn't say it is known for its incredible depth.
It's candy and that's all to it. It's got all kinds of bright colors, tastes sweet, and probably is not the best thing to feed the brain, but you kind of like it anyway. Sometimes you feel like caviar.
Other times you feel like potato chips, or in this case, candy, big fluffy sticky mostly filled with air and a bit of sugar flavored cotton like candy. [***BIG SPOILIER***] don't read further if you want to be surprised.
By the way I did not believe Mr. Fantastic for a moment was sad when his hottie bride to be played by Jessica Alba died. Come on man at least chop some onions. I guess Fantastic Four blew there entire budget on Special effects to afford any.
Oh well as a visual piece of art it was worth a few sacrifices.
