Review of Fantastic Four (2015) by Monica M — 13 Jan 2016
The Fantastic Four reboot was widely savaged by critics and audiences alike. It's a shame, since the character development of the titular heroes, the special effects, and the updates to the old origin story weren't bad at all.
The script could have definitely used a lot of polishing, especially to clean up the often-cheesy dialog. Most bothersome is the pacing, which takes almost half of the movie's short 100 minute runtime to give the heroes their powers.
Doctor Doom's screen time is too short, depriving Marvel's biggest, baddest villain of the screen presence he deserves.
