Review of Fantastic Four (2015) by D371N 5 — 11 Feb 2017
I simply gave this film 2 stars for what Josh Trank claimed to be a seemingly good script before 20th Century Fox interfered with the picture's production, as a massive Marvel fan, I think of this Fantastic Four adaptation as a weak, useless and demeaning disgrace of a movie with little to no actual plot and a very poor performance from the actors and actresses that starred in it, personally I expected MUCH more from Josh Trank as the director of this film after the massive amounts of success that his film, Chronicle gained.
But it was sadly a huge mistake. The saddest part is that when I first saw this film in theaters 2 years ago, I kept trying to force myself to find ways to make Fantasic Four actually a good movie but upon watching it a second time a few weeks later, I came to the conclusion that this film is just completely terrible.
So terrible in fact that even the stars of the film don't stand behind it anymore. I never plan to watch this movie again unless it's for the purpose of a "Bad Movie Day". Fantastic Four is a disappointment of a film, and I'm actually more relieved than anything that Fox was smart enough to cancel the two or three sequels they had planned.
Seeing as it was solely 20th Century Fox's fault that this film became such a disaster, all I have to say is... Look what you did to such a potentially great movie Fox, you turned it into the equivalent of getting kicked in the testicles with a steel toed boot.
Have you learned your lesson about unwanted studio interference? I really hope so.
