Review of Fantastic Four (2005) by Grace S — 16 Jan 2012
It was more playful than most superhero flicks and less action based. I am not so sure the light tone of the movie was right for these heroes though. Light and fun seems like a harmless approach but this may have been too light and borders on cheesy at times.
The cast was uneven some actors were better suited than others for their roles. I love Jessica Alba but this was not the right movie or part for her; she was regrettably out of place. The movie should have spent at least 10 minutes on background of Richards and Vondom and their relationship in college, it is pretty important to the plot.
The story felt rushed to me, by the time all of the characters take shape it ends too quickly. Unfortunately there is far less superpower fighting than I would like. It was a decent movie but it is no Marvell comic classic.
