Review of Fantastic Four (2005) by Michael B — 26 Jul 2011
The only thing good about this movie and franchise as a whole is Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. It is the only dynamic Tim Story got their relationship right with them constantly pranking each other.
The first act portraying the origin was done pretty well with them going to space and being exposed to radiation to gain their powers. However, it becomes pointless and silly with them wanting to "cure" themselves and thinking they have become sick.
As for the other actors, Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic sounds absolutely ridiculous when trying to sound smart. I highly doubt anything he said made sense to anyone (including scientist). Alba was only in the movie so she could constantly taking her clothes off and be invisible.
Also, Julian McMahon ruins Dr. Doom as one of the best Marvel villians. They should have kept him in that damn steel container in Latveria instead of bringing him back to the even worse sequel. Well, there was no way it could be worse than the 1994 movie.
