Review of Fantastic Four (2005) by Noël F — 23 Mar 2012
Four astronauts are bombarded with cosmic rays while working on an experimental spacecraft. They gain freakish abilities from the experience and unwittingly become celebrity superheroes. The main thrust of the film's plot is how this quartet deals with their sudden fame, their physical changes, and the madness of their former boss (Julian McMahon).
While Fantastic Four has a couple of things going for it, I have to say that the majority of this movie is a mediocre photocopy of stuff we've seen in dozens of other superhero movies. The sequel, however, does improve over this film's formula somewhat.
