Review of Fantastic Four (2005) by John P — 24 Apr 2012
One, two, three, four, I don't wanna see this movie no more! Five, six, seven, eight, I hate it when movies like this exaggerate! So today's review needs no introduction which is, of course, The Fantastic Four. Now out of all the comics I've read, I always thought this team was the least interesting. Mostly because of the fact that they usually spend most of their time fighting in outer space, another dimension, or some other time period in the past or future. But as a reviewer, I pushed all of that aside and decided to give this movie a shot. And if you given me a choice between watching this movie again and its sequel or being crucified in the middle of a hot Summer day. Then I would say, "Grab the nail gun, I hear there's a sale at Lowe's right now.".
So what can I say that's already been said by everyone else? It takes forever to get this movie to where it is going pace wise. The dialogue in this is terrible and we see them not doing any type of superheroing whatsoever until the third act. Ioan Gruffudd had little moments where he was talking out of his American accent and into an English accent which made it horrible. The special effects for the Thing made him look like a big orange rubbery turd. I mean, you can't tell me that you had enough money to do the origins part in outer space, but you can't CG the Thing to make him look more realistic. As for the positive things in this movie, there's not a whole lot. Chris Evans was pretty funny with his jokes and antics and the big bout with Dr. Doom at the end was smoe what enjoyable. Over all, I give this a two star rating.
