Review of Fantastic Four (2005) by Alexander C — 07 Dec 2012
''It's clobberin' time!''.
A group of astronauts gain superpowers after a cosmic radiation exposure and must use them to oppose the plans of their enemy, Doctor Victor Von Doom.
Ioan Gruffudd: Reed Richards.
Jessica Alba: Sue Storm.
Chris Evans: Johnny Storm.
Michael Chiklis: Ben Grimm.
Julian McMahon: Victor von Doom.
Really thought this film was funny, fair amount of action but ultimately plot wise it's a mess.
Actually enjoyed it better than I thought but it's obvious FF is a movie that xashes in on another Marvel creation. Which brings me to point out that you shouldnt believe everything you read.
So funny the bit where Johnny reaches for the toilet roll and his quips galore are one of the pulls, plus The Thing, they are the main Stars of the FF while Reed and Sue are abit wishy washy.
Julian McMahon star of TV's Nip tuck is a new fave of mine as the villain Dr Doom. Based his performance party on Darth Vader.
Not a patch on Spider-Man but it's jokes, effects and colour shine, even if it's through some questionable acting and plot contrivances.
Average but still worth watching now and then for Comic Book Fans !
