Review of Fantastic Four (2005) by Azeem H — 16 Feb 2014
I am probably in the minority, but I liked this film, not so much that I think it's a brilliant adaptation of the characters, but I thought it got the basics right. Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis really captured the essence of their characters, Jessica Alba though miscast did well with her role in terms of the bitter/pining ex-girlfriend.
While Ioan Gruffud did well as the geek though you would never really see him as a leader. Like wise Julian McMahon though not particularly memorable as Doom, did the best he could with his role. The film gave us a functional story which served the purpose of showcasing these characters and it was amiable as well.
Yes there have been bigger and better since in the last 9 years, but it made enough to warrant a much worse sequel . Not the best comic book movie adaptation but certainly not the worst.
