Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022) by Tvjerry — 22 Apr 2022

It's especially rewarding to see 2 men (Jude Law & Mads Mikkelsen) declare their love for each other in the opening scene. Sadly, they go on to become enemies in the battle for rulership of the wizard world.

Eddie Redmayne's character returns with his much smaller menagerie of fantastical creatures and a few other characters are added to the mix. The occasional magic moments are the only visually interesting aspects.

Otherwise, there's lots of dialogue and drama. Sure, the cast is blessed with fine performers, but there are simply too many long conversations that are meant to settle the story. The first film in the series got 3/5 stars.

The sequel dropped to 2 stars. This 3rd (and rumored final) release doesn't do any better.
