Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022) by Cesargalvao — 15 Apr 2022
If with “The Crimes of Grindelwald”, the script seemed confusing, here it turns out to be the opposite and is too simple. More than that, it's obvious. JK Rowling's classic plot twists don't excite, although the fan services work more in this one than in the previous one.
Mads Mikkelsen is a welcome addition to the cast and manages to intimidate just by looking.
Maybe JK should focus more on writing her stories than wasting time on Twitter. By the way, the film explores Dumbledore and Grindelwald's passion well.
The film pays tribute to Brazilian fans, but fails to save one of the greatest franchises of all time.
Technically it's beautiful, but I couldn't help but notice Newt Scamander's hand holding 'nothing' in the opening sequence.
The success of the 20th anniversary special of “The Philosopher's Stone” only proves one thing. It's time to stop telling a story from the past and put Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint back on the big screen, even if we don't like The Cursed Child very much.
