Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Double_J — 24 Nov 2018
A movie with flaws but still enjoyable overall. I really dug the change in style from the first movie (even though I liked the previous iteration of this growing franchise), Yates is once again able to adapt his direction to the circumstances of the script (as we've seen him do with the Harry Potter franchise).
The major issue I have with the movie is its script, which feels disjointed, even sloppy at times, and overcomplicates a simple story by trying to mess with its audience.
Yet I enjoyed the ride and am on board for the next opus.
