Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Suchib14 — 20 Nov 2018
This movie had a lot to live up to, not only being the successor to an extremely successful first movie, but it also delved deep into the history of the well known Harry Potter wizarding universe. In that sense the movie did really well, the large majority of the movie made sense and it was very interesting story.
However, the excessive use of "subplots" was slightly confusing especially since the movie spanned over a relatively short period of time. The visuals were brilliant, the actors and actresses from the first film played their parts well (especially Grindelwald and Newt), fantastic beasts were displayed and shocking revelations created tension and hooked the audience for the next movie.
The movie was reasonably long, but, due to the brief period of time it took place in, I suspect much of the audience was left unsatisfied. However, being a Potterhead and a huge fan of the franchise I love the movie and can't hate it.
