Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Olivia K — 24 Nov 2018
This star is for Eddie Redmayne and all the actors whose name doesn't rhyme with Ronnie Lept. This movie was a hot mess of confusing storylines and contradicting information. J.K. loves to rewrite her own stories just for the sake of the mediocre moment of foreshadowing.
Also, Johnny Depp is living proof that if you act like a piece of actual garbage you age like milk. I would have loved to see more of the fantasy and lore that we got a glimpse of in the first movie. This series could have been an amazing feel-good couple of movies following Newt writing his book surrounded by cool animals and friends.
Instead, we got another cliche holier-than-thou good vs overblown evil conflict.
