Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Desirae F — 17 Nov 2018
The Crimes of Grindewald was a fun trip back to the wizarding world and offered lots of homages to the Potter franchise. However, if you are going to the movie with hopes of being back in the Potterverse, youâ(TM)ll be disappointed.
That doesnâ(TM)t take away from this movieâ(TM)s own magic and ability to begin to stand on its own story. There were moments that seemed extraneous, but giving an HP superfan brief and satisfying glimpses into the past origin storiesÂ? of many familiar characters and enabling us to strengthen our bond to HP while giving new life to a future with more of J.
K. Rowlingâ(TM)s magical characters is exciting to me. The movie had the right amount of nostalgia and newness and while retaining its right to live its own storyline and intrigue fans with the future of this franchise.
