Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Nick S — 18 Nov 2018
This has NO SPOILERS: I highly recommend seeing this movie if you are a mature, avid fan of the franchise! The theater I went to have great sound and video quality so that definitely added to the experience.
I went with my grandmother, who has only seen a few of the Harry Potter movies a couple years ago. She liked it, but many of the connections didnï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t make sense. If you're going with someone that isnï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t a big fan, make sure you warn them it may be confusing to a person who hasnï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t watched or read most of everything.
But back to the movie, the costumes were obviously great again. They all have an old-fashioned but elegant 1920s feel that I really enjoyed seeing. The acting was really spectacular, and you could feel the emotion of some of the characters when speaking or crying.
I really liked Jude Law in it, even though heï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s not there that long. Yes, the plot was a little less straightforward, but that makes sense because there are still two more and this one is a buildup to those.
The special effects are AMAZING, especially the last few intense scenes. Overall, it added to my love of the series and I would recommend any person who likes it as well to see it in a nice quality movie theater.
