Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Anthony J — 19 Nov 2018
Even more disappointing than the last one. A weak plot, more dialogue exposition than ever (show, don't tell, please), chaotic action sequences you can't follow, lots of random "beasts" because apparently that's the new through-line for the series, etc.
etc. Even my 12 year old daughter thought it was lame. There was a brief moment when they go back to Hogwarts and spend time with students that made me think it might be turning for the better, but no, that was not to last.
Much of the magic in this series depends on children as primary characters. Without them, it's just a bunch of adults being needlessly dim-witted.
