The reason I liked the first Fantastic Beasts movie was because it had all my favorite parts of the Harry Potter series, without the predictable plot, and honestly my least favorite villain in anything as popular that I've watched or read.

I hoped that this would be the same, but this movie isn't a story about Newt Scamander, it's a backstory to Dumbledore's character in the Harry Potter movies. I do like the fact that it all links up, I appreciate J.

K. Rowling's talents in keeping the universe and characters within boundaries that she creates, but this isn't a Fantastic Beasts movie. It's Harry Potter before Harry Potter was born.
