Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Austin T — 16 Nov 2018
Maybe I'm a bit biased because I just watched Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them for the first time 2 nights before I went to the premiere, but do me a favor and PLEASE IGNORE THE [PROFESSIONAL] CRITICS! This movie is a very good second installment:
+ The beasts from the first Fantastic Beasts play an intricate part in The Crimes of Grindelwald.
+ The script...the script is great!
+ New beasts.
+ Acting.
+ Pace.
+ Where it ends sets a great stage for the next 2 installments.
-Sometime too CGI reliant (keep in mind, it is a movie based on magic so...this is to be expected).
-Plot sometimes seems too convenient.
-Nagini feels like forced-lure to make Voldemort relevant (until she or he plays a bigger role in the movies to come).
SIDE NOTE: NO POST-CREDIT SCENES.
