I regret even renting this movie. Would have been better free on a rainy, lazy day. There is 0 back story. Why is the guy a wanted fugitive? Where do these beasts come from? If he's catching them in the wild as he says then how is the magic world possibly a kept secret like they are trying to hard to maintain?! They are trying so hard to get to screen all the extra details of this potter universe that it felt like this movie was an attempt to get everything from their brainstorming session into one move.

I really really want to see more of the potter universe and experience concurrent, past, and future story lines outside of hogwarts but this movie was rubbish. The redeeming sub plot is the inter-magical and heartwarming relationship that earned this movie the only 2 starts I give it.
