Review of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) by Lancekoz — 25 Nov 2016
Strange world now... such over the top incredible seamless effects, incredible hi-price cast, and people-who-really-know-stuff Art Direction... in service to such a silly, cliche-laden story that only children could love, but at the same time, too complex and dark for children.
Starts out with some light and fantastic moments, ends up about as pleasant (and loud) as a weekend in Aleppo, Syria. Oddly touches on Fascism, waterboarding, Trump... with dragons. The pre-modern visualization of New York city was wonderful.
But brief.
