Review of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) by Thesodomizer — 03 Dec 2017
The wizarding world is back ans so is J.K Rowling.J.K Rowling's screenwriting debut was nothing less than brilliant.Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them was truly fantastic, entertaining, emotionally tense and it made me look forward to the sequel(s).
It was a strange, fun, but mostly mysterious 2+ hour adventure that brings out the fan in me. Rowiling's writing, Yates's directing, costume designs, special effects and the casts acting(more Dan Fogler's than Eddie Redmayne's) had me unable to take my eyes of the screen.
Newt Scamander(Eddie Redmayne) is a mysterious make with a lot of secret's I can't wait to be uncovered in the sequels. It’s an entertaining, visually stunning adventure that doesn’t require you understand(or watch) Harry Potter to enjoy it.
It feels like it's very own thing, it's very own franchise and not something set seventy years before Harry Potter. My only downside is that this movie at some instances didn't know where it was going. I am very amazed and very exited for the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts" movie and so is the "Potterhead" inside of me.
