Review of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) by Muhammad L — 23 Jan 2017
At first, I couldn't help but compare it to Harry Potter which instantly makes you both miss the Harry Potter films and also feel as though this film would not live up to that same standard. But soon enough the characters developed and provided excitement and intrigue.
The combination of Newt's quirkiness and Kowalski's charm was refreshing and left an impression. The 'fantastic beasts' were fascinating and some of them just so unorthodox and peculiar.
The story line wasn't as complex and deep as Harry Potter but the film had the same effect on me as the Harry Potter films did, and that's the fact that you miss the characters once it's over.
There were a few sideline characters and certain scenes which added no benefit to the overall story, but all in all this was an entertaining and enjoyable film.
