Animation will never again be as intricate or perfect as the work the artists of Fantasia created. This film contains some of the most mind blowing sequences ever to come out of the art form, and is really a two hour feast for the eyes and ears. With sequences ranging from impressionistic to those that tell a definite story, Fantasia is always delightfully bizarre and often edging on surreal.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice is certainly a highlight, and probably the most famous sequence from the film; though Night On Bald Mountain is probably my favourite (Starting off really dark and truly frightening, the sequence ends with one of the most visually poetic, and really just beautiful, moments in all of film.).
Anyone who doubts Walt Disney's (the man, not the studio) status as an artist should watch Fantasia.
