Review of Fantasia (2004) by Matt R — 04 Jul 2010
What a fantastic film. From a historical and technical perspective, it's groundbreaking, with Walt originally intending "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" to be a short and when it went over-budget, deciding to make a full-length feature.
From an artistic perspective, it's akin to dreaming with your eyes open. Astounding visuals accompanied by brilliant music, as well as some great informative moments devoted to styles of music and background on why certain pieces were given certain visuals.
