Review of Fantasia (2004) by Ethan D — 29 Aug 2010
The greatest of all animated films. Disney may have crafted subsequent films with more advanced and impressive animation, but no other creation ever resonated with such brilliantly pure creativity as Fantasia.
The abstract approach to Bach's Toccata and Fugue; the classic Mickey Mouse version of Dukas's Sorcerer's Apprentice; and the chilling, ghoulish presentation of Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain are some of the greatest sequences in Disney cinema.
It is a classic for all ages.
