Review of Fantasia (2004) by Ally C — 31 Dec 2010
After Snow White and Pinocchio came Walt Disney's third, ambitious feature in 1940. A collection of episodic animations set to a mixture of popular classics and specially composed music, Fantasia astounds all the way through.
Choosing stories based on Earth's creation, Greek gods, balletic hippos and famously, magic come to life, Disney lays out future Magic Kingdom themes of nature, fantasy and fable together on-screen.
It is the merging of animation to music that pushes previous boundaries and it has dated extremely well.
