Review of Fantasia (2004) by Jack G — 31 Mar 2011
I think it's nearly a perfect film; if you just cut out or reworked that whole My Little Pony-Centaur scene (the only cool part of that whole bit is when Zeus shows up). When it is great though, it's OHMYGOD great.
Even the Sorcerer's Apprentice, which might speak more to Walt Disney's own God/paranoia complex than anything else he ever touched (just a theory, not much to back up on). Night on Bald Mountain and Rite of Spring are so good that the rank as the best short films ever on their own.
