Review of Fantasia (2004) by Dude S — 04 Jun 2011
Fantasia is a Walt Disney masterpiece that is all about well performed music and seven fascinating storys that we can all learn from. This movie changed the way we make music and visuals in movies up to date ever since it was released and I have to say it really impressed me. Believe it or not I just watched it for the first time and whether or not some people think that its just for kids, they are wrong and I say anybody can love this movie. I mean how could anyone find this movie lame even though it is different from most movies, but different is graet for all movies because thats what makes it interesting.
The visuals and music is what I love most about the movie because it had fantastic animation to make the storys and sound breaking music to go along with it. The orchestra did absolutely amazing at creating the music for the movie and deserve alot of credit for that. Leopold Stokowski also did a fine job at conducting the musicians to bring the music into this movie. And Deems Taylor gave a well description of what the music and storys were all about and its true meaning to lessons in life.
The movies most famous character is the classic Mickey Mouse as the sorcerer's apprentice. Him with the robe and magical hat is practically been seen by all fans of Disney and is enjoyed by most. We can all learn from his character that we need to know how to use control before we do something and mess it up and watch the movie to relize what I mean because I don't want to mess anything up myself. There are other famous charcters through out the movie like the dancing hippos, the soundtrack, and the mythical beings of Greek.
The film has many themes depending on the story or what is shown. I say that the main theme in this movie is how we are able to create music for the movies that we make today. As we all know music is very important in movies because it is what attracts more attention to the audiences. No one wants crappy music in a movie because that one thing can ruin it all.
The movie is not exactly the way that some people would expect it to be because it describes of how music is made for movies, but it should impress most who are into Disney movies. In all it was a great Disney classic and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves to see how the music and animation are made in movies.
My rating: 4 out 4 stars.
