Review of Fantasia (2004) by Emmanuel S — 07 May 2013
In every way possible it is easy to see why it's a landmark in both animation and film. Fantasia is remarkable in so many ways. For one the film ditches dialogue for music, which works nearly perfect.
The stories themselves are for the most part well done and very nice to watch. Fantasia is beautifully animated, clean, and has perfect music to capture emotion in each story. The film works perfectly when both the story and score work together equally well; which leads to the only problem, sometimes the score outshines the story, or vise versa, thankfully that problem isn't drawn out to bad, but when it's obvious, it's very obvious.
Regardless, Fantasia is a near masterpiece of film and animation that has enough truly magnificent moments to watch time and time again.
