Review of Fantasia 2000 (2000) by Clifford B — 21 Aug 2010
This was definitely a worthy sequel to Fantasia. Disney needs to make more movies like this; it's pretty much the only way to get them interested in classical music. The animation looked fantastic, like the first one.
The different animations used for each music piece were great. Also, when they used "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" from the first movie, it was very delightful to see one of the classic pieces again.
The new ones were pretty good to watch, too; even though some of them seemed a lot more cartoonish then the ones from the first film. Like the one from New York city, the flamingos, and the Noah's Ark one.
But that doesn't mean they were bad. They were all still fun to watch, and entertaining to listen to. The animation it ended on was definitely akin to Nigh on Bald Mountain from the first Fantasia.
The Firebird Suite had a fantastic musical number, with a even more fantastic animation with it. Just like with Fantasia, it was another great end to another great movie.
