Review of Fantasia 2000 (2000) by Ted W — 18 Dec 2010
It's actually one hour and 14 minutes, and it recycles the Sorcerer's Apprentice vignette from the first Fantasia, so it's actually just one hour of material. 59 years after the release of the first film, and the follow up is one freakin hour! In many ways it's the antithesis of the first film; Fantasia 2000 is impersonal, mass-appealing, and short lived.
Fantasia was long winded but at least you had the feeling the artists input their blood, sweat and tears. And 2000 is fundie oriented, while Fantasia was loose enough to include demonology and Catholicism.
The shorts aren't terrible this time around, but it appears fabricated as a whole. And the hosts are pointless and unfunny.
