Review of Fanny and Alexander (1982) by Peter W — 18 Nov 2007
This is the swan song of Ingmar Bergman´s films and without doubt one of the strongest achievements of the eighties. It summons themes from earlier Bergman films and contains litterary influences from Hoffmann, Dickens and Strindberg.
The music plays an important role in the thematic interplay between life and death.
