Review of Fanny and Alexander (1982) by Robert W — 09 Apr 2012
Good film, a bit on the long side, but is a great story (semi-autobiographical) by Bergman. The various characters of the family are fascinating. Isak, the Jewish antiques character is fascinating, too, as "the rescuer" and in the sense of touching on Jewish mysticism, magic, and religious symbolism.
A fine film of many meanings.
