How after two years "Fanboys" has still not been released in the UK truly baffles me as it is easily one of the best comedies in recent memory. Set in 1999 the movie revolves around a group of friends on a road trip with the aim it is to break into George Lucas' skywalker ranch and get a sneak peak of Star Wars episiode I months before anybody else, and as per usual in these type of movies not everything goes to plan and the friends find themselves in many a hillarious sitatons on their travels including a run-in with a group of Trekkies led by the awesome Seth Rogen which is a definite highlight of the movie.

It's the Star Wars fans and general fandom geeks who will take most enjoyment from the movie but It also has widespread appeal as unlike so many other modern comedies Fanboys does not rely on crude gross out humour to obtain its laughs.

Sam Huntington, Jay Baruchel, Dan Fogler and Chris Marquette are all excellent as the fanboys in question as they are all very likeable in their roles and do not present the usual one dimensional characters you often find in these type of movies.

The numerous cameos is another reason for loving this movie as Carrie Fisher,Billy Dee Williams, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes and even the mighty James T.Kirk AKA William Shatner all have memorable appearances.

Overall the movie is a lot of fun, Star Wars fans will get it most but still there is something here for everyone else too.
