Review of Family Plot (1976) by Brett B — 07 Feb 2009
Hitch's final film, FAMILY PLOT seems to be routinely cast aside as one of his lesser works. While that may be the case in comparison to films like PSYCHO, NORTH BY NORTHWEST, and VERTIGO, I think this movie is definitely a fantastic piece of entertainment.
The story is light, to be sure, but not at all uninteresting. Above all else, I think this is a demonstration of Hitchcock having some fun, and there are far worse ways he could have gone out.
