The master's touch is undeniably a bit off in his final film, but Harris and Dern are such a winning pair as a bickering heroic couple that one can excuse the uncharacteristic clumsiness of Hitchcock's misanthropy and the broad comedy.
Devane and Black are charming villains as well.
