Review of Family Plot (1976) by Nadine S — 19 Oct 2009
FAMILY PLOT is a pefect headstone to a great career. If I had seen it in theaters, I'd have stood and cheered at the end. I really, really liked it- even as a minor work, it gets a 9.5/10 from me. Its simply a great movie, with humor and suspense to spare, and with Hitch at the top of his form.
I only wish there had been more of these 70's Hitchcock films- FRENZY and FAMILY PLOT are well made, intelligent films. Bruce Dern and Barbara Harris are top notch in this, a great couple. Full of non-seqiturs and humor, FAMILY PLOT is Hitchcock's funniest film, and one you should definitely see.
