This is such an underrated film. I love the relationship between the 3. I do think the fact that hoffman and sean connery are playing father and son doesn't work so well since they're close in age but you forget that while you watch the film because there relationship is not like any father and son.
They just seem like two guys who don't get along and have some grudges but ultimately love one another. It's a very engaging film and quite moving. I love films that take place around Christmas and Lumet's style of the picture is very good.
