Review of Fame (2009) by Michelle W — 04 Jan 2010
This film follows the students at a New York performing arts school and their quest for fame.
Choreography was great, the singing, the cast and characters were all great. The theme song is fantastic. It captures all the joy of achieving your dreams, which is what this film gives you hope for. Everyone has nursed an unrealistic dream and this film shows you what might have been. That is Fame's appeal.
But like fame, this film is fickle and erractic. It's here, it's there. They merely follow the characters through school, which no real plotline, Then it ends, after graduation. I don't feel satisfied, or intrigued, which does nothing for me.
I think this film was fun to watch, it's a guilty pleasure but it's lack of cohoerency cost Fame it's impact.
