Review of Falling Down (1993) by Arsev A — 03 Sep 2009
Part Urban Drama, part OTT action flick, Falling Down is pleasingly solid entertainment. Michael Douglas gives an atypical performance as the average joe waging all out war on the irritations of modern life, while Robert Duval is the last-day-on-the-job cop trying to stop him.
Watching Douglas go off the handle and deal out some hard justice against poor customer service, gangland youths and, well, just about anyone else who gets in his way is a treat. It's engaging and darkly comic, with fun action sequences and a truly emotional conclusion.
Recommended.
